There are allegations that the BJP candidate Dilip Saha violated the model code of conduct during the Sagardighi by-election in Murshidabad district. According to reports, Saha allegedly removed police personnel within a 200-meter radius of the Samasabad High School booth and entered the polling booth with the security of central forces.
These actions have been questioned, and the Trinamool Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission.
Additionally, there was tension during the mock poll after the start of polling. A scuffle broke out between polling agents and the presiding officer of booth number 53 at Danrail Primary School, leading to the removal of the officer by the Election Commission. Meanwhile, Congress candidate Byron Biswas met with BJP candidate Dilip Saha at the Samasabad High School.
Despite these incidents, voting is currently underway throughout the assembly constituency, and there have been no reports of serious violence from any location thus far.
