A patient recently passed away in a hospital after being admitted for 19 days without any family visits, despite repeated notifications from hospital staff. The patient, Nimai Biswas, was found by the local police in a critical condition on the roadside and was brought to the hospital for treatment. The police attempted to locate Biswas' family and informed them about his hospitalization. Despite these efforts, no family members visited him during his 19-day stay.
Biswas, who was suffering from respiratory problems and other medical conditions, saw his health decline steadily over time. The hospital continuously updated his family about his worsening condition, but no one responded to the notifications. Staff members confirmed that Biswas spent his final days without any family support or presence.
Biswas died on Saturday night, but his body remained in the hospital's male ward for over four hours before being removed. According to hospital sources, the body was left in the ward while other patients continued to receive treatment. The delay in removing the deceased patient's body has raised questions about hospital procedures in such cases. The hospital later confirmed that authorities had to intervene and contact the family to inform them of the death.
After being contacted, Biswas' wife, Archana Biswas, explained that her relationship with her husband had been strained for some time, and they had little to no communication. She confirmed that, although she was aware of his illness, she did not visit him due to their troubled relationship. The hospital and authorities were eventually able to inform the family about the patient’s death, and the body was eventually taken from the ward after several hours.
