Jammu and Kashmir hit by 5.8 magnitude earthquake, no casualties reported
In a shocking incident, four men on motorcycles fired 16 rounds at a petrol pump in Delhi’s Gokulpuri area on Thursday night. The firing occurred at Mukul Diesel Petrol Pump around 10:38 pm, leaving the supervisor, Anshul Rathi, injured by glass shards that hit his stomach. He was rushed to GTB Hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.
According to the police, the attackers arrived on two bikes and targeted the office cabin before fleeing the scene. One bike sped off towards Gokulpuri, while the other headed towards the Loni roundabout. The pump owner, Harish Chaudhary, suspects the attack was linked to an old village rivalry.
Harish Chaudhary, who owns the petrol pump, reportedly has pending criminal cases against him. The police are investigating whether these cases have any connection to the incident. Security footage from the area is being examined to identify the attackers, and additional teams have been deployed to track their movements.
The incident follows another shooting last week in North East Delhi’s Kabir Nagar, where three men on a motorcycle opened fire on friends traveling on a scooter, killing one and injuring two others. These attackers are also suspected of involvement in a similar firing in Jyoti Nagar.
Incidents of targeted shootings have raised concerns about the increasing lawlessness in certain parts of Delhi. Authorities are focusing on cracking down on criminal gangs and personal rivalries to curb such violence.
The investigation into the Gokulpuri shooting is ongoing, with police questioning associates of Harish Chaudhary to determine any possible motive or prior threats.
