Thailand announces e-visa for Indians from Jan 1, 60-day exemption to continue
A serious allegation has emerged involving threats made against Kolkata Police's Deputy Commissioner (DC) Central, Indira Mukherjee. The threats, which were reportedly made by three unknown YouTube users, have been taken seriously by law enforcement, leading to the registration of a case at the Hare Street Police Station.
According to the complaint, the threats were made in the comments section of a YouTube video, where the individuals wrote that Indira Mukherjee would be "treated in the same way" as the doctor who was tragically raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. This alarming statement was posted following one of Mukherjee's media briefings on the RG Kar case, where she has been a prominent figure.
In addition to the threats, the accused also made obscene comments about Mukherjee and revealed the name of the female doctor who was the victim in the RG Kar case, further intensifying concerns about the safety and security of those involved in the investigation.
The Kolkata Police have responded swiftly to this situation, registering a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. Efforts are now underway to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the threats. The incident has heightened tensions surrounding the RG Kar case, which has already sparked widespread protests and controversy.
