In a startling revelation, Akhtar Ali, the former Deputy Superintendent of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has accused Sandeep Ghosh of rampant corruption and malpractice during his tenure at the hospital. In a recent statement, Ali alleged that Ghosh, who held significant influence within the hospital administration, was involved in various illegal activities, including demanding commissions for his work and engaging in the illicit disposal of bio-medical waste.
Ali’s accusations paint a grim picture of the inner workings of one of Kolkata’s most prestigious medical institutions. According to Ali, Ghosh was notorious for not executing any tasks without extracting a commission. "Whether it was procurement, contracts, or even simple administrative tasks, nothing moved without Sandeep Ghosh getting his share," Ali revealed.
Furthermore, Ali claimed that Ghosh was deeply involved in the disposal of abandoned individuals, as well as the smuggling of bio-medical waste. "These illegal activities were carried out with such ease that it was as if they were a routine part of his job," Ali stated, highlighting the severity of the alleged misconduct.
The most shocking aspect of Ali’s account is the level of protection and power that Ghosh allegedly wielded. "The day I decided to take a stand against him and expose these malpractices, I was transferred by the state government within an hour," said Ali, indicating the possible involvement of higher authorities in shielding Ghosh from scrutiny.
