In a heartbreaking incident in Bihar's West Champaran district, two young individuals lost their lives while filming Instagram reels on a railway track. The accident took place at Parsa halt under Majhaulia police station when the Raxaul-New Delhi Satyagraha express train, moving at a high speed, struck them.
The victims, identified as Kanhaiya Kumar and Suraj Kumar from Amwa Bairagi village in West Champaran, were engrossed in taking selfies and creating reels, wearing earphones and oblivious to the approaching train. Both individuals succumbed to the impact, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, the Station House Officer (SHO) at Majhaulia police station, confirmed the accident, revealing that the victims, absorbed in their activities, failed to realize the approaching train, resulting in their immediate demise.
The incident highlights the dangers of engaging in risky activities on railway tracks, and Mishra stated that the matter is currently under investigation. Local residents attempted to take the bodies for cremation, but the police intervened, redirecting them for postmortem at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Bettiah.
