In commemoration of the 75th Republic Day, Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose presided over the flag-hoisting ceremony and took the salute of the army at Rajpath Red Road in Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, along with the Speaker of the assembly and several state cabinet ministers, graced the event with their presence.
The celebration included a spectacular display as flowers cascaded from an Indian air service helicopter upon the unfurling of the tricolor. The attention-grabbing jeep parade showcased the Marak missile Pinaka, Smerch, ULH's Bakhub exhibition. The event featured the enchanting performances of Army Band 3 and Police Band, leaving a lasting impression on the spectators.
Simultaneously, Red Road resonated with vibrant tableaus, including Saf Drive Save Life, Kolkata Police's motorcycle display, Cognizant, Pathshree, and Dharma Jar Utsav Sobar, presented by the state government. Multiple schools from the state participated, with exhibitions from Chetla Girls High School, St. Thomas School, Diamond Harbor High School, Deshbandhu Girls School, and Shantmoy Girls School Purulia. The program concluded with the melodious rendition of the national anthem by the police band.
