BJP accuses police of halting new voter conference in Kolkata ahead of Lok Sabha elections

Allegations have surfaced against the police for disrupting the new voter conference organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kolkata ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP has asserted that the police hindered the Namo, Nava Mata meetings at various locations, including Shyam Bazaar and Jorasanko. Protests ensued in Shyambazar as BJP supporters voiced their discontent, continuing until the scheduled program concluded.

Following the incident, Tamoghna Ghosh, the North Kolkata BJP President, has called for a road jam and march in every division on the 27th, accusing the police of damaging banners, posters, LCD screens, and other infrastructure intended for the program. Lalbazar sources counter these claims, stating that the event was organized without proper permission, prompting the police intervention.
