Leftist student organizations held a protest rally at Presidency University during a surprise visit by Governor CV Anand Bose, expressing their opposition to the National Education Policy.
While the Governor was engaged in discussions with the university's teachers and Vice Chancellor, students outside the campus were seen raising slogans.
Despite engaging in talks with the students, the Governor was unable to satisfy their demands. Students expressed their disappointment at not being able to question the Governor regarding his unannounced visit. They further demanded that the elections for the student union be conducted promptly in all colleges and universities, however, they did not receive any assurance from the Governor on this matter.
The protest rally organized by the Leftist student organizations highlighted the ongoing concerns and discontent among students regarding the implementation of the National Education Policy. The issue of delayed student union elections remains a key point of contention among the student community.
