Around 10:45 pm outside the ED office at CGO Complex, Salt Lake, a man suddenly started running with a bag over his shoulder. Media personnel were present outside with cameras and mics. The sudden running of a man in this manner raised suspicion and media persons also started running after him.
Six or seven media persons were running behind the person carrying the bag. He understood that he had to stop. As soon as he stopped and his face came in front of the camera, it was revealed that he is none other than Santanu Banerjee's close aide Supratim Ghosh alias Akash, who was arrested in the teacher recruitment corruption case.
On Wednesday, on the notice of central agencies, he came to the ED office, where he was interrogated till late at 10:45 pm. After this, he came out but started running to avoid the media persons.
However, when asked why he was running away, he said that he had no special relationship with Santanu. Both have been close to each other but they had no role in the corruption. After ED's interrogation, he did not want to face questions from media persons and so started running away. He said, "I don't want to say anything more. Let me go home."
After this, he left for home. Similarly, another close cell of Santanu reached the ED office on Wednesday. He also came out in the night after interrogation. In response to questions from media persons, he said that he was not in touch with Santanu for the last one and a half years. The two have been close to each other but recently the two did not talk to each other after falling out over several issues
