On Wednesday, officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) interrogated Sujay Krishna Bhadra, also known as Kaku of Kalighat, in connection to a high-profile corruption case involving teacher appointments in West Bengal. The questioning took place at the CBI's office in Nizam's Palace. After the interrogation, Bhadra spoke to reporters, stating that he had complied with the summons and would appear again if called upon.
When asked about his relationship with Kuntal Ghosh and Santanu Banerjee, who are already been arrested in connection to the corruption case, Bhadra acknowledged that he knows them both and has political ties with them. He claimed to have stated this fact on multiple occasions.
Regarding allegations of his involvement in coal smuggling, Bhadra became agitated and refused to comment. When questioned about Ghosh and Banerjee's assertion that they were the only recipients of the corrupt funds, Bhadra suggested that he would provide information if requested by the CBI.
Bhadra was summoned to appear at the Nizam Palace at 11 am on Wednesday, following a notice from the CBI. He was questioned for approximately three hours.
