Hemant Soren may take oath as Jharkhand CM alone, Cabinet to be sworn in later
The businessmen of Howrah's Mangalhat area have finally found relief from the notorious Gulab Gang, thanks to the intervention of Taaza TV. The gang, which had been involved in extortion and illegal encroachments, had been causing considerable distress to local business owners for months. Following the broadcast of an exposé by Taaza TV, the issue came to the attention of authorities, prompting immediate action.
Howrah Police Station acted swiftly, resulting in the suspension of one of its officers after an internal review. A policeman from the station was closed, and Howrah City Police Commissioner Praveen Tripathi ordered a departmental inquiry into the matter. The inquiry will focus on the role of the charge station and whether there were any lapses in addressing the extortion issue previously reported by local businessmen.
The situation escalated when Howrah Police, under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Tathagata Pandey, initiated a crackdown against illegal activities in the Mangalhat area. The police campaign targeted the removal of unauthorized encroachments and put an end to the widespread extortion activities carried out by the Gulab Gang. This enforcement action has been welcomed by the local business community, which has been grappling with these unlawful practices.
