35-years-old woman found dead at home in Ranchi, police suspect suicide

In a tragic incident, a woman named Seema Parveen was found dead in her rented home in the Patharkudwa area under Lower Bazaar police station jurisdiction in Ranchi on Monday. The police suspect suicide as the cause of death, as the 35-year-old was discovered hanging in her residence. Her body has been sent to the RIMS hospital for a post-mortem examination.

According to sources, Seema was previously married to Sohram, with whom she had two children. However, the couple divorced, and for the past three years, Seema had been living with Azim in a live-in relationship. Reportedly, tensions arose when Azim refused to marry her despite their prolonged relationship.

In 2022, Seema filed a case against Azim for alleged cheating and having sexual relations with false promises of marriage. Following the case, Azim was granted bail, but the relationship remained strained.

Family and neighbors suggest Seema may have been facing harassment and emotional distress in the relationship, which could have led her to take the drastic step. Police station in-charge Dayanand Kumar confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of her death.
