Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
Sub-registrars Ahmed Hussain of Pakridayal in East Champaran and Pranav Shekhar of Babubarahi in Madhubani have been suspended with immediate effect for recording and circulating videos of official meetings of IAS officer KK Pathak held through video conferencing in the first week of February.
The videos showed Additional Principal Secretary (Excise, Prohibition, and Registration) Pathak allegedly hurling abuses at the officials of his department and raving about the people of the state for not following traffic rules.
After the Bihar Administrative Services Association went up in arms against Pathak, the Patna HC asked the Chief Secretary to mediate.
A notice issued by the registration department on Wednesday said that an explanation was sought from Hussain in the matter of taking a video recording of the department's meeting and releasing it. It was also stated that Hussain used to attend video conferences from his residence in Samanpura.
