Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that India's well-planned cities will determine the country's destiny.
In a post-budget webinar on "Urban Planning, Development and Sanitation", he said that with India's rapid urbanisation, it is important to build infrastructure that is futuristic. “Well planned cities of India only determine the destiny of India. When planning is better, our cities will become climate resilient and water safe,” said the Prime Minister.
He also listed three major areas of urban planning and development – How to strengthen the urban planning ecosystem in the states, how to better utilize expertise in the private sector for urban planning and how to develop such centers of excellence that take urban planning to a new level. level.
The government organized a series of webinars after the budget was reached to get ideas and suggestions for effective implementation of the initiatives announced in the Union Budget 2023.
