Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates met Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das at the central bank's office in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The visit was confirmed by the RBI in a tweet in which Gates and Das engaged in a wide-ranging conversation on financial inclusion, payment systems, microfinance and digital lending. "Had an excellent meeting with @BillGates on financial inclusion, payment systems, microfinance and digital lending etc," Das tweeted after the meeting.
The meeting between Gates and the RBI governor comes days after the Microsoft co-founder praised India for various achievements.
Gates is scheduled to meet Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday, March 1.
