A 25-year-old mason was reportedly shot and critically injured in Srinagar village under Aayar police station in Bhojpur district on Monday morning.
The victim, identified as Sonu Singh, sustained two gunshot wounds – one in the abdomen and the other on the right hand. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ara and his condition was said to be critical, police said.
SHO of Aayar Police Station Manoj Kumar told, "Sonu was shot on Monday at around 8 am when he was going to defecate outside the village." Initial investigation revealed that the reason behind the incident was an argument between Sonu and Kariya Singh a few days ago. So far, no FIR has been filed by the victim.
"However, the police have started an investigation in the matter and are trying to nab the culprit," the SHO said. Meanwhile, the victim's father Rambabu Singh told that a fight had also taken place between Sonu and Kariya a month ago. After that, however, the matter was resolved.
“On Monday morning, Kariya was lying in wait on his bike near the village bridge when Sonu reached there, fired twice at my son and ran away,” alleged Singh.
