‘Selfiee’ promotions: Akshay Kumar breaks Guinness World Record for most selfies in under 3 minutes

Akshay Kumar earned his own place in the Guinness Book of World Records by taking the most self-portraits (selfies) in less than three minutes while promoting his upcoming film Selfiee.

He met his fans during a meet-and-greet in Mumbai to promote his film, which premiered on 24 February 2023, and took the opportunity to take 184 selfies, which has now made him a Guinness World Record holder for this extraordinary feat. The 55-year-old actor is known for his disruptive stunts and distinctive records.

Akshay Kumar broke the previously held world record of 168 self-portraits (selfies) taken in three minutes by James Smith (USA) on board the cruise ship Carnival Dream on January 22, 2018. Earlier in 2015, global icon and Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson held this record with 105 selfies (selfie) in three minutes at the premiere of San Andreas in London.

Talking about the same, Kumar said, “I am excited to break this unique world record and share this moment with my fans! Everything I have achieved so far and where I am at this point in my life is because of the unconditional love and support of my fans everywhere. It was my way of paying them a special tribute, of appreciating how they stood by me and my work throughout my career.”

The film is presented by Star Studios in association with Dharma Productions, Prithviraj Productions, Magic Frames and Cape Of Good Films Selfie starring Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Nushratt Bharucha and Diana Penty is slated to release on 24th February 2023.
