Deoria police said they have arrested two men who allegedly sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman near Bhatni railway station on Sunday night.
The woman, who was travelling to Bihar's Bagha district, was waiting for a train when she was attacked at a restaurant near the railway station, Deoria SP Sankalp Sharma said. He added that one Deepak Jaiswal and one Rohit Gour were arrested in connection with the case even as further investigation was on.
The woman was found unconscious and admitted to BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur. Sources said the surviving men said she could get food at the dhaba where she was sexually assaulted. The accused fled, leaving her unconscious.
The priority was informed about the unconscious woman around two o'clock in the morning, after which he reported the matter to the railway police. The woman, who was referred to a Gorakhpur hospital by a local hospital, is said to have suffered multiple injuries on her face and body.
