SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
36 state government employee organizations have launched a two-day strike, demanding the implementation of the central rate for dearness allowance (DA). The strike has caused disruption in various state government offices, educational institutions, and hospitals, with reports of protests and slogans being heard from different districts since the morning.
Despite the state government's strict instructions, which allow only four valid reasons for employees to skip work during the strike, protests have continued in several government offices such as Nabanna, Writers Building, New Secretariat, and Corporation. The striking employees argue that the government's guidelines are illegal and have refused to comply with the notice.
Advocate Praveer Chattopadhyay of Sangmari Samiti Manch has written a letter to the State Finance Secretary, stating that the directive is unlawful and has been issued with ill intentions. He has warned of taking legal action if the order is not withdrawn.
In response, the Trinamool State Government Employees Federation is organizing tiffin time marches and meetings in various offices to protest against the strike called by the United Forum.
