SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
Tapas Mandal, arrested in teachers' recruitment scam, has once again made allegations against Hooghly Youth Trinamool leader Kuntal Ghosh. On Monday, prior to appearing in the special CBI court, Tapas asserted his innocence and claimed that he was falsely accused after making a complaint.
Just before his court appearance, Tapas made additional statements, stating that he did not accept any money, but Kuntal had taken a much larger sum of 19 crore rupees instead of the reported 50 lakh rupees. Tapas claimed that he demanded the money back from Kuntal and subsequently filed a complaint, which ultimately led to him being accused in the case.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made arrests in connection with the teacher recruitment scam involving the Service Commission (SSC). Tapas Mandal, who has close ties to Manik Bhattacharya, the former chairman of the Madhya Shiksha Parishad, was apprehended by the CBI on Sunday. Additionally, the agency has arrested an individual named Niladri Ghosh.
CBI sources say that 10 middlemen, including Tapas Mandal and Niladri Ghosh, were called to the Nizam Palace on Sunday morning for questioning in the matter of getting jobs by taking money. Everyone reached on time.
Inquiries were started with Tapas Mandal and other agents. During interrogation, Tapas tried to pin all the allegations on others. He was not clarifying his role in all the allegations related to the transactions.
