SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
Internet services were restored in Palam on Sunday, four days after they were suspended as a precautionary measure by the district administration following the tension in Panki.
There has been a temporary suspension of internet services of all types and all service providers in the district since February 15 due to communal riots in Panki ahead of Maha Shivratri. The suspension of internet services in the district most adversely affected the distribution of LPG cylinders and the owners of petrol pumps.
Owner of HP Daltonganj gas dealer agency, AK Pandey, said that the suspension of internet services has affected the sale of LPG cylinders. He said that consumer bookings have been seriously derailed by the suspension. Students preparing for various examinations traveled to the adjoining districts of Latehar and Garhwa to have clean availability on these four days.
A petrol pump owner in Panki area said that our fuel shipment and consumption has gone down drastically, firstly due to suspension of internet services and secondly due to the announcement of Section 144 ban on Panki. Notably, a dispute between two communities at Panki in the district on Wednesday morning followed by stone pelting between the two parties led to Section 144 being imposed in the area to control the situation.
