Reviewing West Bengal's EV police & where it stands

To address this issue, the West Bengal government has formulated an EV policy that aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles and reduce pollution levels.

West Bengal has set ambitious targets for the adoption of electric vehicles, investing in charging infrastructure and providing incentives for both buyers and manufacturers. The state government is offering subsidies for two, three, and four-wheelers, tractors, e-cycles, and hybrids, along with road tax and registration exemptions. Additionally, power bill benefits, employment generation incentives, and skill development programs have been initiated to promote the growth of the EV sector.

The state government has also established an EV cell to monitor and regulate the implementation of the EV policy, ensuring that the targets are met and that the incentives are being utilized appropriately. By investing in these areas, West Bengal can create a more conducive environment for the growth of the EV sector.
