West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee termed the IT raid on BBC as unfortunate and called it a political vendetta. CM Mamata Banerjee said these things while answering the questions of reporters in the assembly premises after the state budget was presented in the assembly on Wednesday. CM Mamata Banerjee said that she felt it was not desirable. She also said that if the BBC has done something wrong, she doesn't support it, but she doesn't think that has happened.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, "It's very unfortunate. BJP is running govt with a political vendetta. It's not only affecting the freedom of the press, there will be no media left in the country. Media is already controlled by them. Media can't raise its voice."
The survey is going on at the BBC office in Delhi since Tuesday. Opposition parties have raised their voice against it. Almost all the opposition parties including the Congress have criticized it. This is the first time that CM Mamata Banerjee has also opened her mouth regarding the IT survey on BBC.
