The Enforcement Directorate has issued a lookout notice in the name of Souvik Bhattacharya, son of Manik Bhattacharya, former chairman of the Bengal Primary Education Board. This is the first lookout circular notice issued in the recruitment corruption case. This lookout notice has been issued so that Manik Bhattacharya's son cannot escape from the country in any way.
A copy of the lookout notice has been given not only to the airport authority but also to the land and seaport authorities. A copy of the notice has also been given to the border areas. Manik Bhattacharya is currently in jail custody. Manik Bhattacharya's son's name came first in the recruitment scam. He was also summoned by the court. He appeared in court, but still, this notice has been issued.
Investigators said that the corruption that took place under Manik Bhattacharya's shadow is linked to Souvik Bhattacharya's organization. Manik Bhattacharya has been named as an accused in the case. Investigators said that his son is also one of the people involved in the case. Souvik's name figures in the charge sheet submitted by the ED in the recruitment corruption case. It is very important to question him in this regard.
Meanwhile, Souvik has also applied for anticipatory bail. The matter will be heard on February 22. A lookout notice has already been issued so that Manik Bhattacharya's son could not leave the country under any circumstances. If experts are to be believed, this time Souvik Bhattacharya will have to face many difficulties in the legal tug of war.
The central probe agency claims that there are 596 private DL Ed colleges across the state. Manik Bhattacharya, former chairman of the Board of Primary Education, has financially benefited all the DLED colleges in the state. Before Manik Bhattacharya was interrogated by the investigators, Tapas Mandal, a one-time close friend, also spoke openly against Manik Bhattacharya.
Investigation revealed that Manik Banerjee's son had a consultancy firm. The organization collected Rs 2 crore 64 thousand from private BE colleges from October 2018 to April 2019 i.e. within 7 months, but allegedly, no service was provided to the colleges. In such a situation, many types of questions arise regarding the calculation of money. These are all the things that the investigators want to know. Meanwhile, the ED has issued a lookout notice in view of the possibility of his absconding abroad.
