Gaurav contacted the Korra police, lodged an FIR
Korrah police today arrested two for extorting Rs 6000 from college student Gaurav Kumar Raj on a false allegation of passing notes to a girl.
Korra Police Station Commander Uttam Tiwary confirmed the arrest. Both the accused have been identified as Ajeet Kumar Ram and Saurabh Mehta.
Sources said that two days ago, when Gaurav was present at the Gandhi Maidan in Matwari locality, he was approached by two youths. They started threatening Gaurav for passing bad notes to the girl. When Gaurav denied it, the two forced him to accompany them for the girl to confirm. The duo took Gaurav to a remote area near Canary Pahad and took away Rs 5,000 in cash after threatening him.
Gaurav also informed them that the amount was for his college fees, but they did not listen. They even forced Gaurav to transfer Rs 1000 through UPI and ran away from there.
Gaurav contacted the Korra police and lodged an FIR under various sections of the IPC. The police started an investigation and soon reached Ajeet and Saurabh. Tiwary said the duo confessed to their crime and were sent to jail.
