Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday found IGP Vikash Vaibhav, 2003 batch IPS guilty of violating the code of conduct by posting tweets against DGP, Shobha Ahotkar. "Yah bahut hi ganda kaam hai" (This is a very dirty act).
“An officer's job is not to tweet their problems, to share them on social media. If he has any problem with his seniors, he should have approached his superior officers and complained,” the chief minister told during the Samadhan Yatra.
2 page warning has been sent
The 60-day leave request filed by IG Vikash Vaibhav was rejected by the fire services, home guard and civil defence department.
DGP Ahotkar sent a two-page show cause notice to Vaibhav alleging that the IG violated the Official Secrets Act. She also said the IGP's actions were unbecoming of a senior officer and violated provisions of the All India Services Code of Conduct. She claimed that the police officer came to official meetings with a cell phone only to record the proceedings.
Vaibhav was accused of tarnishing the image of the government and its senior officials by publishing negative posts on social media. His social media posts are going viral with baseless allegations against the government, the notice said, and asked Vaibhav to respond within 24 hours.
