Five members of a family, including three children, from Bijnor town in Uttar Pradesh were found dead in their rented house in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Wednesday, officials said.
35-year-old Majid Ansari and four members of his family were found unconscious in their rented accommodation at Kralpora in Kupwara district. All five were declared dead after a postmortem, with officials saying the cause of death was likely to be suffocation.
The deceased include Ansari's wife Shana khatoon and their three children.
"I came here in an ambulance and saw five dead lying in the room including two children and an infant who was only one or two days old," Block Medical Officer, Kralpora, Mohammad Shafi, said.
The police started investigating the case.
