In a "special gesture", British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak briefly joined a meeting between India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and his British counterpart Tim Barrow, assuring his government's full support for deepening the bilateral strategic partnership in sectors such as trade and defence.
Doval and Barrow met at the UK Cabinet Office, the department responsible for supporting the Prime Minister. "A special gesture by Prime Minister @rishisunaka to join the India-UK NSA dialogue for a moment between Sir Tim Barrow and Mr Doval at @cabinetofficeuk," the Indian High Commission said on Twitter on Saturday.
“We deeply appreciate the Prime Minister's assurance of his government's full support in deepening the strategic partnership in trade, defense and S&T. Look forward to Sir Tim's visit to India soon,” he added.
Doval's trip to London follows his visit to the US, where he met with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Tuesday.
