'Didi Cup' tournament held  in Kanthi on Mamata Banerjee's birthday with 16 teams

The "Didi Cup" cricket tournament began on January 5th in Kanthi, East Medinipur, in celebration of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's birthday. The two-day event features 16 teams competing in a series of matches. The tournament has been organized by Akhil Giri, the MLA of Ramnagar, and Suprakash Giri, the Chairman of Kanthi Municipality, with the goal of promoting sports and fostering community participation.

The inaugural match saw Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh batting, while Suprakash Giri bowled from the other end. Former Minister Akhil Giri also participated in the match, showcasing his batting skills. The event has drawn attention from local residents and sports enthusiasts, creating a festive atmosphere in the region.

The tournament will continue for two days, with teams from various parts of the state and beyond competing for the title. The event is not only a sporting occasion but also a tribute to Mamata Banerjee's leadership and a celebration of community spirit.
