Is Tigress Zeenat’s refusal to eat meat a sign of trauma or captivity adjustment?

Tigress Zeenat, who spent 9 days on the run through the forests of Purulia and Bankura, was captured by the forest department after an extensive search operation. The tigress, believed to have covered several miles during her escape, roamed freely through dense jungle and crossed multiple areas before being sedated and captured. Authorities were unable to track her movements for several days due to her ability to evade detection.

Upon her capture, Zeenat was transported to the Alipur Animal Hospital, where she was examined by a team of veterinarians. The tigress has shown no interest in eating meat since her arrival at the hospital, instead consuming only milk and water. Despite being offered meat multiple times, Zeenat has refused to touch it. Her lack of appetite for meat is being carefully monitored by the medical staff.

Veterinarians confirmed that Zeenat shows no signs of physical injuries despite her extended period in the wild. An examination revealed no external wounds, bruises, or other visible signs of harm, which is significant given the harsh conditions she would have faced during her escape. In the days before her capture, Zeenat was reported to have consumed at least three goats, which was determined based on traces found in her system.

The tranquilizers used to capture Zeenat are also a factor being considered in her behavior. The tigress was darted with four tranquilizers during her capture, and the effects of these drugs may still be affecting her behavior, including her refusal to eat meat. As Zeenat adjusts to captivity, the medical team is closely monitoring her recovery and behavioral patterns, including her response to food and her overall health.
