Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
On December 12, Basudev Sarkar, a 51-year-old resident of Barrackpore, West Bengal, lodged a complaint at Burrabazar Police Station regarding a theft of Rs 14,200. According to the complaint, Sarkar was traveling in an auto from Sealdah to Burrabazar when he realized that his cash was missing after reaching Pagiapatty on M.G. Road, Burrabazar at approximately 4:30 PM. The case was recorded under Case No. 249, Section 303(2) BNS at Burrabazar Police Station.
Following the complaint, three individuals were identified in connection with the theft. Renu Swami (53), Shanti Swami (21), and Rekha Swami (28), all residents of Bandel Balikata, P.O. Bandel, P.S. Chinsurah, Hooghly, were named as suspects. The suspects were reportedly seen near Alpore Zoo, Kolkata, on December 29, around 3:30 PM. Police have gathered information regarding their whereabouts and activities, focusing on their potential involvement in this theft.
The investigation is ongoing, with Burrabazar Police reviewing available CCTV footage and other evidence. Authorities are examining the suspects' movements and any possible links to similar thefts in the area. As of now, no arrests have been made, and police have requested public assistance in providing any information that may help resolve the case.
