PM Modi distributes 71,000 Govt job letters at Rozgar Mela

On December 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually distributed over 71,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates in central government departments across India. The distribution was part of the Rozgar Mela initiative, aimed at providing government jobs to youth. The recruits have been placed in various ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Posts, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Higher Education.

The Rozgar Mela is being conducted at 45 locations across India, focusing on filling vacancies in central government ministries and departments. The initiative is a significant part of the government’s employment generation strategy, aimed at offering youth permanent government jobs, thus contributing to national development and enhancing the workforce of the public sector.

In his address, Modi emphasized that the government has successfully provided approximately one million permanent jobs over the past one and a half years. He stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to transparent and merit-based recruitment. The recruitment drive aims to address the large number of vacant positions in various departments of the central government, which have been a focus of ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative functions.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s focus on transparency in recruitment, mentioning that over the past decade, more than 10 lakh permanent jobs have been created in government departments. The recruitment process has been designed to ensure fairness, with appointments being made through a transparent selection process that prioritizes merit. This approach, according to Modi, ensures equal opportunities for all applicants.

Additionally, Modi discussed the government’s efforts to empower women through various schemes. He highlighted initiatives like the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Jan Dhan accounts, Mudra Yojana, and PM Awas Yojana, all of which aim to enhance financial inclusion, educational opportunities, and economic empowerment for women. Several women were among those receiving appointment letters at the Rozgar Mela, reflecting the government’s commitment to promoting gender equality in the workforce.

The Prime Minister also noted the government’s emphasis on rural development and the upliftment of farmers. He mentioned initiatives like Bima Suraksha and Lakhpati Didi, which aim to provide financial security and empower rural populations, particularly women, in agricultural and non-agricultural sectors. These efforts are part of the broader rural development agenda, which includes improving access to resources and creating sustainable livelihoods.

Finally, Modi reiterated the government's commitment to advancing the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) by 2047, attributing the country's progress to the hard work, leadership, and potential of its youth. He emphasized the importance of youth-led initiatives such as Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Digital India, and Startup India in driving India’s growth in key sectors like manufacturing, renewable energy, space exploration, and digital technology. Through these initiatives, the government aims to equip the youth with the tools to lead the country into a new era of economic growth and technological advancement.
