Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
On the night of Thursday, December 19, Kolkata Police's Special Task Force (STF) executed a raid at a guest house located on AJC Bose Road and arrested two individuals, Ravish Kumar and Mirz Malik, both of whom are residents of Bihar. During the operation, the police seized two 9mm automatic pistols and 18 rounds of ammunition from the arrested men.
The operation was based on specific intelligence gathered by the STF. After detaining Kumar and Malik, the police recovered the weapons from their possession and proceeded to arrest them. A case under the Arms Act was registered immediately following the seizure of the firearms. The police did not provide further details regarding the exact circumstances under which the firearms were brought to the guest house.
Kumar and Malik have been accused of possessing illegal firearms, and the investigation is focusing on whether they were part of a larger arms trafficking network. Authorities have confirmed that they are examining the men’s backgrounds and any possible connections to criminal organizations. While it is not clear if the firearms were intended for distribution in the city, the police are investigating the purpose behind their possession.
The raid comes amid growing concerns about criminal activities linked to guest houses in Kolkata. The police have not disclosed whether the guest house had any previous history of being involved in illicit operations. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to uncover any potential criminal links related to the two suspects.
