BJP's Dilip Ghosh leads protest march at India-Bangladesh border amid rising tensions

BJP leader Dilip Ghosh led a protest march at the India-Bangladesh border in the Bhatpara area of Bahadur Gram Panchayat, Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal, in response to escalating tensions between India and Bangladesh. The march was attended by Ghosh, BJP's Jalpaiguri district president Bapi Goswami, and several local BJP leaders, along with a large number of villagers. The demonstration was organized to express concerns about the growing anti-India sentiments from extremist groups in Bangladesh.

This protest comes amid rising political tensions between India and Bangladesh. BNP leaders and Islamic hardliners in Bangladesh have made inflammatory statements against India, including calls for the occupation of India’s northeastern states, commonly referred to as the Seven Sisters. There have also been public calls to boycott Indian goods, including the burning of Indian-made sarees, and some groups have voiced concerns over India’s territorial ambitions. These developments have raised fears of potential border clashes and further instability in the region.

In response to these concerns, the Border Security Force (BSF) has heightened security measures along the India-Bangladesh border. BSF patrols and surveillance have been increased to prevent infiltration and potential border violations. This heightened security is part of India’s broader strategy to ensure the safety of its borders amidst rising tensions. The BSF has been actively monitoring the situation, ensuring readiness for any developments that might threaten border security.
