Sukumar's much-awaited sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, has stormed the box office, breaking multiple records. Released on December 5, with paid premieres on December 4, the film made a staggering Rs.72 crore net on its first day in the Hindi market, surpassing Jawan and KGF: Chapter 2.
According to Sacnilk.com, the film grossed Rs.170.6 crore net across all languages in India on its opening day, including Rs.10 crore from Wednesday premieres. The worldwide gross collection reached an impressive Rs.279.20 crore, marking the highest opening for an Indian film in 2024.
Pushpa 2’s Hindi-dubbed version created history by becoming the highest day-one earner in the language, dethroning blockbusters like Jawan (Rs.65.5 crore), Pathaan (Rs.55 crore), and KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs.53.95 crore). Its performance cements Allu Arjun’s growing pan-India appeal, fueled by the success of the 2021 prequel, Pushpa: The Rise.
The film’s success is attributed to a combination of factors, including star power, massive pre-release promotions, and positive audience reviews. Pushpa: The Rule not only capitalized on the hype from its predecessor but also offered an engaging narrative of Pushpa Raj’s rise as a red sanders smuggling kingpin and his conflict with lawman Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.

With its record-breaking debut, Pushpa 2: The Rule has set the tone for upcoming big-ticket releases and reinforced the dominance of South Indian films in the pan-India market.
