Based on positive global cues, the Indian indices opened a gap-up on November 25 with Nifty above 24,200 on a landslide victory in Maharashtra by the BJP-led alliance.
The Sensex was up 1,173.91 points or 1.48 percent at 80,291.02, and the Nifty was up 367.00 points or 1.54 percent at 24,274.30. About 2371 shares advanced, 292 shares declined, and 121 shares unchanged.
Shriram Finance, M&M, Bharat Electronic, Adani Enterprises, and BPCL were among the major gainers on the Nifty, while JSW Steel was a loser.
