Potato traders to go on strike if Bengal doesn’t allow selling to other states
The West Bengal Police Department has issued orders for the transfer and new postings of six senior IPS officers. The changes were made in the interest of public service and are effective immediately.
According to Notification No. 2103-P.S. Cell/HR/O/3P-03/2018, issued by the Police Service Cell of the Home & Hill Affairs Department, the following transfers have been announced:

- New Posting: Additional Commissioner of Police (Addl. CP), Kolkata
2. Shri Murli Dhar, IPS
- Previous Posting: Additional Commissioner of Police (Addl. CP), Kolkata
- New Posting: Inspector General of Police (IGP), SVSPA, Barrackpore
3. Ms. Swati Bhangalia, IPS
- Previous Posting: Superintendent of Police (SP), Howrah (Rural)
- New Posting: SP, Cyber
4. Shri Biswajit Mahato, IPS
- Previous Posting: Deputy Commissioner (DC), South, Howrah Police Commissionerate
- New Posting: DC, Central, Howrah Police Commissionerate
5. Shri Subimal Paul, IPS
- Previous Posting: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Central, Howrah Police Commissionerate
- New Posting: SP, Howrah (Rural)
6. Shri Surinder Singh, IPS

The notification also highlighted that these appointments have been approved by the Governor of West Bengal and are part of ongoing efforts to optimize the state's police administration.
This reshuffle involves key postings across Kolkata, Howrah, and the state-level police units, aiming to enhance the efficiency and service delivery of law enforcement in the state.
