Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of running a covert "whisper campaign" ahead of the state’s upcoming elections, alleging that the party is using underhanded tactics to influence voters. Soren stated that individuals from neighboring states—Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal—are involved in spreading fear and misinformation in Jharkhand. These individuals, according to Soren, are participating in discussions at local crossroads and public spaces, where they subtly promote political messages in an attempt to sway public opinion.
Soren, in his remarks, emphasized that the campaign's central tactic revolves around fear-mongering and the spreading of false concerns, aimed at distracting voters from the real issues facing the state. He highlighted the fact that this campaign is being orchestrated with substantial financial backing, with each assembly constituency reportedly receiving over one crore in funding. This money, Soren alleged, is being used to fund public discussions, spread misleading information, and amplify the fear-driven narrative in key areas.
The Chief Minister strongly urged the people of Jharkhand to reject these tactics and respond with boldness. He specifically appealed to voters to speak out openly and confidently, asserting that the people of Jharkhand are known for their courage and should not be influenced by subtle or covert approaches. Soren’s call for direct campaigning reflects his belief that the people of Jharkhand should not be intimidated into silence by political maneuvers designed to manipulate their views.
In addition to discussing the "whisper campaign," Soren also addressed broader allegations about the BJP's political tactics. He accused the party of misusing electoral bonds to fund their operations, calling into question the transparency and legitimacy of the party’s financial dealings. Furthermore, Soren criticized the BJP for its role in the distribution of fake medicines and vaccines, suggesting that these actions were part of a larger effort to profit by exploiting public health concerns.
