Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
A 30-year-old man, Harendra, was arrested for the murder of his 60-year-old father, Krishna Pal, in Luhari village. The incident occurred on Sunday night when Krishna Pal, a farmer, went to check on a tubewell. Harendra followed his father to the site, where the two had an argument. In the heat of the altercation, Harendra struck Krishna Pal on the head with a spade, causing fatal injuries. After the attack, Harendra returned home and then went directly to the Kotwali police station, where he confessed to killing his father.
The murder appears to be the culmination of a long-standing property dispute between Krishna Pal and his two sons. Harendra had been demanding his share of the family’s 35 bighas of agricultural land. He also accused his father of transferring a plot of land in Delhi to his elder brother, who lives and works there. Harendra’s frustration had reportedly been growing for some time due to these unresolved issues. It is unclear if there were any previous attempts to mediate or resolve the dispute.
At the time of the incident, Krishna Pal had gone to inspect a tubewell, a common task for farmers in the area. Harendra, following him, is said to have confronted his father about the property issue. The two are believed to have exchanged heated words before Harendra attacked Krishna Pal with the spade. The blow to the head proved fatal, and Krishna Pal died at the scene.
After committing the crime, Harendra left the site and went to the local police station to surrender. He informed the police that he had killed his father. The authorities immediately took Harendra into custody and began an investigation into the circumstances leading to the murder. The spade used in the attack was recovered from the scene by the police.
Inspector Manoj Kumar Chahal confirmed that the weapon used in the crime had been secured as evidence. He also stated that Harendra was being questioned about the details of the property dispute and the events leading up to the attack. Harendra is currently in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing. Police are looking into whether the murder was premeditated or an impulsive act fueled by the ongoing conflict. Further legal proceedings will take place as the investigation continues.
