In a span of just 14 days, 17 girls have mysteriously disappeared across Bahraich district, sparking widespread concern and panic. Among the missing are 14 teenagers and three young women, who vanished from markets, fields, coaching centers, and even their homes.
In one alarming incident on November 9, two cousins, aged 12 and 13, went to the fields in a village under the Hardi police station and never returned. Similarly, on the same day, a 15-year-old girl from the same area was allegedly taken away by Vinay Gautam.
A father from Matera police station reported that his 15-year-old daughter disappeared on November 4, while a family from Ranipur shared that their 16-year-old daughter vanished after going to cut grass on November 12. Another case from Dargah Sharif police station involved a 14-year-old girl who left for her coaching class on November 4 and never returned.
The mysterious pattern continues with accusations against specific individuals. For instance, a family from Motipur alleged that three local men abducted their 15-year-old daughter on November 3. In another case, a woman from Visheshwarganj accused Monu, a resident of Gonda Bhatpurwa Gokarnath, of taking her 18-year-old daughter.
In Nanpara, an eight-year-old girl disappeared on November 6, while in Fakharpur, a family reported their 16-year-old daughter missing on November 8. Despite these alarming incidents, families remain hopeful as police investigate the cases. Officers have registered missing persons’ reports and are combing through leads to locate the girls.
These disappearances have cast a dark shadow over Bahraich, with residents urging authorities to intensify their search efforts and ensure the safety of young girls in the district.
