In a stunning revelation during a Shri Ram Katha program in Jaipur, India’s renowned spiritual leader Guru Rambhadracharya has claimed that he played a significant role in the selection of Rajasthan's current Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma. Speaking in front of Chief Minister Sharma, Rambhadracharya stated that it was his suggestion to elevate a Brahmin to the top political position in the state.
The event, which took place at the Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium, saw CM Bhajanlal Sharma attending the Ram Katha, seeking the blessings of Rambhadracharya. During the proceedings, the saint made the claim that when the discussion about Rajasthan's leadership arose, he had advised those in power to select a Brahmin for the role of Chief Minister.
"I also came to your swearing-in ceremony," Rambhadracharya told CM Bhajanlal, "When there was a discussion about who should be given the reins of Rajasthan, I had indicated to the people above that this time the power of Rajasthan should be given to a Brahmin."
He went on to explain that some had expressed concerns that former CM Vasundhara Raje would be upset by this suggestion. However, Rambhadracharya added that he told the decision-makers, "Let us make her say it herself," implying that Vasundhara herself should be the one to accept or reject the idea.
This claim by the influential spiritual leader comes amid the backdrop of the 2023 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a significant majority. After days of speculation over who would assume the CM post, Bhajanlal Sharma was chosen to lead the state in a party legislature meeting, eventually taking the oath as Chief Minister on December 15, 2023. Alongside him, Diya Kumari and Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers.
Rambhadracharya’s statement has sparked intrigue and conversation, especially as it intertwines spiritual influence with political maneuvering, raising questions about the deeper dynamics within Rajasthan’s political circles.
