Amit Shah's bag checked ahead of poll rally

Ahead of his rally in Hingoli for the Maharashtra assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s bag was checked by Election Commission officials. This routine procedure is part of the Election Commission’s efforts to ensure transparency and fairness during the election process. Shah, acknowledging the checks, responded on social media platform X, stating that the Election Commission has been conducting bag checks for all political leaders campaigning in the state. He pointed out that similar checks had been carried out earlier on leaders like Uddhav Thackeray and Devendra Fadnavis, whose bags and even helicopters were examined by EC officials.

In his tweet, Shah emphasized the BJP's commitment to fair elections and expressed his support for the healthy functioning of the election system, saying, "We all must contribute to a healthy election system and perform our duties in keeping India as the strongest democracy in the world." The Election Commission's stringent measures are part of ongoing efforts to maintain election integrity and prevent any potential misuse of resources during the campaign period.

The checking of bags and other security measures is a standard protocol aimed at ensuring that elections are conducted fairly, in compliance with the rules set by the Election Commission.
