Youth dies after alleged beating at South Garia drug rehab, family vandalizes centre in protest
A gruesome discovery of human remains near Barasat Government Medical College and Hospital has shocked locals. The mutilated body parts, including a head, hands, eyes, and teeth, were found on Thursday morning in a ditch near a garbage pile, raising numerous questions about how these remains ended up at the location. The disturbing sight has drawn significant public attention, with onlookers gathering in shock and horror.
The incident was reported early in the morning when a hospital cleaning department employee, Nitai Mondal, noticed the dismembered body parts while disposing of garbage. Describing his shock, Mondal said, "Every day, I come here to dispose of waste, but today, I was horrified to see the body parts lying around."
Ranjit Mukherjee, the supervisor of the cleaning department, has since clarified that the body was not an "abandoned body." While he refrained from further comment, Mukherjee’s statement has only added to the mystery surrounding the remains. Some hospital staff speculate that the body may have been moved to the garbage pile intentionally, raising concerns over possible foul play.
Upon discovering the remains, hospital authorities immediately notified the local police, who arrived to investigate the area. Forensic experts were also called in to examine the scene and collect any evidence that could help identify the individual and determine the circumstances of the death. Given the state of the body, officials believe the remains were dumped intentionally.
