Liluah Police rescues kidnapped victim within 1 hour, three arrested

A man was kidnapped in Howrah on Monday night after responding to a job advertisement posted on social media. Around 8:15 p.m., Liluah Police Station received information about the abduction, with the victim’s family reporting that they had been contacted by one of the kidnappers, who demanded a ransom of 50,000 rupees for the victim’s release. Out of concern for the victim’s safety, the family transferred 20,000 rupees as an initial payment.

Upon receiving the ransom details, the police began tracking the location of the suspects. Within an hour, a team from Liluah Police Station located the hideout, rescued the victim unharmed, and arrested three individuals connected to the incident. The suspects, identified as Ratan Tiwari, Soumya Palit, and Akash Pandey, were detained at the scene and taken into custody.

Police investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly used a false job advertisement on social media to lure the victim. Law enforcement officials have advised the public to remain cautious while engaging with online job offers and are continuing their inquiries to ascertain if any other individuals may have fallen victim to similar schemes.
