5 family members killed in car crash on Greater Noida Expressway after collision with stationary truck

A horrific road accident occurred on Sunday morning, November 10, when five members of a family were killed after their car collided with a stationary truck on the Greater Noida Expressway. The accident took place around 6 am near Sector 146, close to the Knowledge Park Police Station. The family was traveling from Noida to Pari Chowk, heading towards their home in Kashiram Colony, Ghodi Bachheda in Greater Noida, when the crash occurred. The car, a WagonR, reportedly rammed into a stationary truck parked on the side of the road, resulting in severe damage to the vehicle.

The victims were identified as Aman Singh, 27, the driver of the car, his father Devi Singh, 60, mother Raj Kumari, 50, and two aunts, Vimlesh and Kamlesh, both 40. According to the police, Aman Singh died at the scene due to the force of the crash. The other four passengers were critically injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead shortly after arrival. The impact of the crash left the car heavily damaged, with significant destruction to its front and sides.

The truck involved in the accident had been parked on the road due to a mechanical fault. Authorities confirmed that the truck was stationary when the car, traveling at high speed, collided with it from behind. "The car was speeding and rammed into the stationary truck from behind, causing a massive impact. The driver died instantly, and the others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital," said Ashok Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Greater Noida.

Following the accident, police officials from the Knowledge Park Police Station arrived at the scene and extracted the bodies from the wrecked car. The bodies were sent for post-mortem. The family has filed a complaint against the owner of the truck, and the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the crash. "We are investigating the circumstances of the crash, and all necessary legal actions will be taken," stated Vipin Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO), Knowledge Park Police Station.

The accident caused temporary disruption on the Greater Noida Expressway as emergency services worked to clear the wreckage. Traffic was later restored to normal. The authorities have confirmed that the post-mortem reports will provide more details on the cause of death. This incident follows a similar tragedy in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, in September, where five family members, including a child, died after a car crash involving multiple vehicles.
