Biker collides head-on with police car near Axis mall, hospitalized

A serious road accident occurred near New Town’s Axis Mall on Sunday morning, resulting in critical injuries to a biker. The collision involved a speeding police pilot car, which reportedly lost control before striking the motorbike. The biker, identified as Sanjeev Mondal, suffered severe injuries in the crash and was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the police vehicle was moving at high speed when it suddenly swerved and collided head-on with Mondal's bike. The force of the impact left the motorcycle significantly damaged, while Mondal sustained multiple injuries, requiring immediate medical intervention. Residents expressed concern over the rising frequency of accidents in the area, especially involving high-speed vehicles.

New Town police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and cordoned off the area to conduct a preliminary investigation. According to initial reports, the pilot car was en route to an undisclosed location when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Officials are now reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact sequence of events and to identify any factors contributing to the crash.
