Potato traders to go on strike if Bengal doesn’t allow selling to other states
The Railway Board has implemented a strict ban on the making of reels at railway stations and along tracks. This directive addresses a rising trend where passengers engage in unsafe behaviors, such as filming videos and taking selfies in dangerous locations. Effective immediately, individuals caught filming in these restricted areas will face fines and may also incur jail time under the Railway Act, highlighting the seriousness of this issue.
The ban arises from increasing concerns about the potential hazards posed by passengers who prioritize social media visibility over safety. There have been numerous reports of accidents where individuals, motivated by the desire for likes and followers on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, have engaged in reckless behavior. This not only endangers their lives but also disrupts the travel experience for other passengers. The government has emphasized the importance of improving railway facilities, introducing enhancements such as lifts and escalators in both major and minor stations. Unfortunately, these improvements have inadvertently made railway stations popular filming locations, complicating safety efforts.
To enforce the new regulations effectively, passengers are now required to obtain prior permission from railway officials before filming any content, whether for personal or promotional purposes. Aditya Gupta, Senior DCM of the Moradabad division, confirmed that this requirement, previously applicable to professional film shoots, now extends to all types of reel-making. This initiative aims to discourage irresponsible behavior and ensure that all activities within railway premises are conducted safely and legally.
Violations of this ban will result in penalties, with the Railway Protection Force empowered to impose fines and initiate legal action under the relevant sections of the Railway Act. Furthermore, authorities will monitor compliance with the new rules using CCTV cameras installed throughout the stations. This surveillance will not only help catch violators in the act but also serve as a deterrent against unsafe practices in these high-traffic areas.
K. CPRM Kaushik Mitra from Eastern Railway emphasized that any individual caught making reels within station premises or alongside railway tracks will face severe consequences. This includes legal action, which is intended to reinforce the importance of safety and order in railway operations. The initiative aims to protect both passengers and railway staff from the risks associated with reckless filming and distractions in busy environments.
