Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
Relatives of BJP MLA Rajesh Chaudhary from Mant Assembly allegedly attacked hospital staff at DS Hospital, Mathura, after being denied entry into the ICU on Sunday morning. The MLA’s brother Jitendra Singh, nephew Dev Chaudhary, and others forcefully tried to enter the ICU, where Chaudhary’s mother is admitted, but were stopped by staff members Pratap and Satyapal. A violent altercation ensued, captured on CCTV, showing Chaudhary’s relatives assaulting the staff.
According to hospital director Dr. Lalit Varshney, the attackers also vandalized hospital property during the incident. The hospital filed a police complaint, accusing the MLA’s relatives of attacking staff and damaging equipment. CCTV footage submitted to the police supported these claims.
In a counter-complaint, Jaswant Singh, a representative of the MLA, alleged that he went to deliver tea to the MLA's mother. He claimed that when he took a photo in the ICU, hospital staff verbally abused him and attacked him with scissors and an iron rod. He also alleged that staff called reinforcements, locked him in a room, and beat him before his family and the police rescued him.
Police investigations, led by SHO Anand Kumar Shahi, revealed that the MLA's accusations were false based on CCTV footage. The footage showed the MLA’s relatives instigating the attack. As a result, a case has been registered against the MLA’s relatives, and the police are continuing to review additional footage.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has strongly condemned the incident, expressing support for the hospital and demanding legal action against the MLA’s relatives. "Such behavior by public representatives' families is disgraceful and must be dealt with strictly," said IMA President Dr. Manoj Gupta.
