Jammu and Kashmir hit by 5.8 magnitude earthquake, no casualties reported
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has confirmed the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind behind the October 7 attack on Israel, through initial DNA testing. Sinwar was responsible for orchestrating the deadliest terrorist attack in Israel's history, which left 1,200 Israelis dead and pushed the Middle East into further turmoil.
"Mass murderer Yahya Sinwar, who was responsible for the massacre and atrocities of October 7, was killed today by IDF soldiers," said Foreign Minister Katz in a public statement, underlining the significance of Sinwar's death.
Sinwar had been a central figure within Hamas, known for his leadership in carrying out violent assaults against Israel. His death marks a critical moment in Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza, aimed at dismantling Hamas’ leadership and military capabilities.
Earlier today, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they had neutralized three terrorists during a targeted operation in Gaza. While carrying out the operation, Israeli soldiers took great care in their mission, as there was no evidence of hostages being present in the building where the terrorists were located.
"The forces that are operating in the area are continuing to operate with the required caution," the IDF said in its official statement, stressing that their operations are being conducted with precision to minimize harm to civilians and hostages.
